[Doral, FL] — The Apollo Group proudly announces its partnership with Florida International University (FIU) to establish the Rafael A. Ordonez Scholarship Endowment. This initiative highlights The Apollo Group's commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, with a particular focus on advancing social responsibility by empowering the next generation of leaders in the hospitality and tourism industry through education.

Administered by the Florida International University Foundation, Inc., the endowment will support students in FIU's prestigious Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, ensuring access to world-class education while fostering innovation, leadership, and equity within the hospitality sector.

Commitment and Gift Allocation

The Apollo Group’s commitment to ESG values is exemplified by a generous contribution of $100,000, allocated to balance immediate impact with long-term sustainability:

• To the Rafael A. Ordonez Scholarship Endowment: Creating a perpetual fund that will provide annual scholarships for future leaders in hospitality.
• To operating funds: Providing immediate support for scholarships, including:
  • Two full scholarships awarded in the 2019-2020 academic year.
  • Annual scholarships until the Endowment generates sufficient spendable earnings.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their enrollment or acceptance into the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
